She did spend quite a bit of time bonding with the pets, Shiloh and Billings, and also enjoyed a "play date" with baby Emma, the granddaughter of one of our neighbors.
Here she is in the den by her toy trunk that Uncle Evan made for her first Christmas last year. She's figured out how to open it but isn't very good at deciding what she wants then and sort of stands there with it propped open and slowly closing.

This is a borrowed toy that has been a big hit courtesy of one of Kaydynce and Jennifer:) It's a leapfrog school bus that Susannah has just now figured out how to navigate facing forward. She loves the buttons, but especially the one on a cell phone panel that says, "three cheers for the bus driver, hip hip hooray!" which she observes complete with a fist pump on the hooray part.
Another thing to notice about this photo are my new favorite pair of shoes (seriously, if they didn't have a flower cut out, I'd be looking for them in my size!) and a cute outfit courtesy of Grammy Grimm from Hanna Anderson (outlet.) Who know I'd ever get enjoyment out of dressing my baby, but with cute little kimono pants and pink on red, things couldn't be cuter if you ask me:)

Finally, here is the lower half of our lovely 16 month old and her second pair of new shoes. The shoe thing is weird cause she had been using hand-me-downs cept all of the sudden neither fit anymore. So these are the tennis shoe version which I bought a whole size too big and we wear big socks with. So far, so good.
Also notice the random necklace hanging at her knees? The funny thing is the child has a real taking to jewelry, but especially beads. As her mom who rarely changes her earrings or wears much jewelry at all save special occassions, I find this strange. Now, when we visit my mom's house, Susannah goes in her closet, points to the necklaces hanging up, and politely requests: "Some?"
The necklace in this photo is one of mine that mom handed down to me and which Susannah discovered easily on my dresser. She actually carried it to Florida last weekend and Galon said she wore it most of the time. Guess I need to find something a little more her length before she trips on it or is compelled to double wrap it.
