Indecision

This afternoon, Susannah and I enjoyed another long walk. This time we brought along an empty oatmeal canister to collect "treasures." Hers included acorns in various states of decay, plucked morning glories and some sticks.

Earlier today I had an interview for what at first glance would seem like a no-brainer for me: part time work at a local private horse stable. So why can't I decide if it's a good idea?
On the one hand, we've got my priority to spend more time with Susannah. This job would mean every afternoon for at least an hour or two and possibly weekend work if an emergency arose.
The employee wants an answer Monday so we can get started asap.
On the other hand, there's a part time position at the local library as an assistant. Also could be considered a dream job for me. And the hours would be less weighty because there's another assistant I would work out scheduling with. Some nights (e.i. one) and an occassional Saturday would be required. That hedges in on Galon because Saturday's are one of his only days to do fun stuff and/or hang out as a family.
The library position interview isn't until Wednesday. I'm gonna call to see how much the pay is but basically I'll have to decide about the horse barn before even having an offer for the library.
Ugh.
Other options include subbing at the local schools (could be good fodder for the future) and freelance writing for area magazines (which would be a risk considering I'd have to do the work before getting paid.)
While I know holding a vote won't help my ability to make decisions, any words of wisdom folks could offer would be appreciated.
Meanwhile, Susannah and I made pine-cone bird feeders this morning, spreading stale PB on the cones and after dipping (she liked that part best) into bird seed, stringing them on low branches with yarn. Already birds are frequenting the ones we hung outside windows.

Here's a photo of Susannah hamming it up in the bath. She's actually prefering showers these days and dances in the water and holds her breath while rinsing (since she's short enough all the water goes directly in her face.)

This last shot is of Susannah- who had snagged one of my recorders- and was pretending it was a phone. She was very quiet and I thought something was up and snuck up to the den and heard her say, "hello grandma" and "goodbye pops" before snapping the pic. Kept her occupied for a good 20 minutes.

My vote...if you can, enjoy this time with your family. There will always be other opportunities for stuff outside the house. I would do anything to be at home, and when I get there, I won't waste time doing anything else. Do you have to take on a part time job?

That's just my thoughts. We're not there, so I couldn't possibly grasp what it takes to be at home all the time, but I hope it helps anyway! :-)
