1. Master the sandwich
Last week after work and before bath/bedtime, things were hectic as we were trying to pack for a trip and get everyone fed decently. In haste, we threw some meat and cheese together with bread for us parents. Susannah was very interested, so we made her her very own sammy and she chowed down! I'm guessing they eat their own sandwiches at daycare or they train babies for this pre-vitro, because she was a pro. Shiloh the dog got nary a crumb from that meal.

2. Master the walk.
Galon's sister Jenny was married in Mobile last weekend and had asked both Susannah and our niece Anna to serve as flower girlettes. Here are the three during the rehearsal and although Susannah's expression doesn't do justice, she and Anna were very taken with the process. Anna especially liked seeing the process from so near to the bride- when Jenny and Matt were running through bubbles to embark on the honeymoon, Anna's mom had to warn her not to run alongside them and get in the car too. Anna as they ran past: "I'll miss you Jenny!" It was very cute.

3. Master the accessories
Jenny graciously remembered both Susannah and Anna during the rehearsal dinner-gift distribution with purses filled with age-appropriate jewelry. Susannah was thrilled and instantly put the bracelets on and slung the bag over her shoulder, where it remained most of the weekend. Although it's not Galon's style, he did end up carrying Susannah's purse again a few times that weekend, including at the Mobile airport.

4. Master the transition
Between dead asleep napping, as shown here, and walk-down-the-aisle-under-a-spotlight, as occurred at the wedding. Past bedtimes each night, an hour time difference and spotty naps (if at all) and still a trooper- thankfully.

5. Master the swing.
After initially resisting the swing given to her by Gramma and Popa for her first birthday, now Susannah wants to be in it the entire time we're "utside." She even points the direction she wants to go and particularly likes it when poor Shiloh happens to wander into harms way and is rewarded with a kick in the gut.

6. Master the mower
Susannah loves watching from the house windows as Galon mows the lawn. This time, she got to ride a long for a bit. She really liked it and didn't seem to be scared at all. Here she is waving to mommy.

7. (yeesh. so much for less copy.) Master the potty?
O yes, we have embarked unofficially on the journey to flushdom. Although currently just at the "sit naked on the potty" stage, there's much anticipation and interest in Mommy and Daddy using the potty- which is kinda weird, but ok. Here, she's unpacked her diaper bag on the way to Grammy and Popa's to surprise him for his birthday.
