Susannah's preschool did a little diddy and although she looks like Florence Nightingale, that's supposed to be a pilgrim's bonnet.
Third from the left, that's our girl! Highlights included the song:
I'm a little turkey, short and round.
I fluff my feathers and strut around.
I have a sharp beak and a little red wattle.
I open my beak and gobble, gobble, gobble!
And here she is with dear friend L who was also at in-home daycare setting with her all last year. Having him at preschool has made for a much easier transition for us all I believe. It's a sad day when she comes home and the report is that he wasn't present for some reason.
On another, slightly related note, I'm seeking understanding and balance regarding Susannah's recurrence of sickness since enrolling in preschool. She's been sick pretty much all of October, first with colds, then strep throat, most recently conjunctivitis (PINKEYE) and a related ear infection. It's not a nasty place and we've been working on hand washing but for some reason (maybe cause she's only part time?) she seems to be on the precipice of whatever is going around which means by the time her antibiotics of choice start to kick in, she's about to catch something else.
Part of the problem is her inability or refusal to take naps while there so I'm sure her little system just gets worn down. It's hard for me to feel like it's not worth it and want to just pull her out when it's late at night while listening to her cough herself to sleep or early in the morning when her eyes are goopy. Again.
Advice? Agreements?

I have heard from other parents that taking Emergen-C for Kidz greatly reduced how much their children got sick. I just bought some myself for the first time. Elizabeth has never been really sick enough to need an antibiotic, so I am not the best one to talk with about the issue. I bought it for Elizabeth to use before we go to Disney World in January. The kids version of this does seem to be harder to find. Mine came from CVS pharmacy. Debra G.
